About Me

Hello everyone! I am Father Bill Cremers from St. Anthony’s parish in Columbus, NE. My parents are Jim and Marlene Cremers, and I have one younger sister, Carly. I grew up in Columbus and attended St. Anthony’s Elementary School and Scotus Central Catholic High School, graduating in 2011. From there, I attended Conception Seminary College in Northwest Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 2015.  I graduated from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in 2019 with a Master's in Divinity and a Master's of Arts in Theology.  I was ordained a deacon on May 25, 2018, and a priest on June 1, 2019.
I grew up going to Mass every Sunday and learning about my faith, but I did not truly dive into God’s love for the Church until I attended JC Camp, a four-day youth retreat, before my freshman year. I had many questions about truth throughout junior high, but the camp began a process of discovery that will continue for eternity. This four-day retreat opened my eyes to what God was doing in my life, and I went back as a junior counselor the next four years.
People always said I would be a good priest, but I never paid attention to the call until my second JC Camp. There, I had a feeling that God was calling me to say “yes” to something, but I was afraid it could be the priesthood and pushed the thought away. This feeling happened my next year at the retreat and made me even more fearful, but then I went to a Steubenville youth conference in Springfield, MO, a few weeks afterward and encountered something beautiful. Seeing the procession of thirty priests awakened a new desire in me, and I responded to the vocations call at the end of the conference.
Another crucial event in my discernment was my visit to Conception Seminary College in Missouri in April 2010. This event made entering the seminary right after high school a real possibility, and the peace, community, and prayerful environment of the school appealed to me. My four years there was a tremendous blessing, giving me solid character formation, incredible friendships, and a deeper relationship with the Lord.  Afterward, my time at Kenrick contributed greatly to my continued formation and desire to become a priest, leading to ordination as a deacon on May 25, 2018.  My summer activities have included living at St. Bridget’s parish in Omaha while working at Catholic Cemeteries, teaching Totus Tuus twice, attending the Institute for Priestly Formation at Creighton University, and serving at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Omaha and Sacred Heart Parish in Norfolk.  In St. Louis, while attending seminary, I have served at St. Joseph's in Imperial, St. Raphael the Archangel, Immacolata in Clayton, and Immaculate Conception in Union, MO.

I am currently assigned to St. Patrick's parish in Fremont, NE, along with St. Lawrence in Scribner and St. Rose of Lima in Hooper.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar and drums, reading, playing disc golf, playing board games, surfing the Web, spending time with friends and family, and praying.
Please pray for me as I embark on this journey, and may God bless you abundantly!
